Western Glamping Styled Shoot

We love the way this Western inspired photo shoot hosted by The Heartland Muse incorporated our Lux Tent! If you want your wedding day to have a subtle Western flair, scroll through for some great inspiration. All photos by the talented Shelby Sawyer.

This shoot took place at Country Lane Lodge, located in Adel, Iowa. The venue is surrounded by beautiful greenery making you feel removed from reality (while still being a convenient 30 minute drive from Des Moines airport!). Outside the Lux Tent, Vowed Picnics put together a perfect picnic setup.

There were so many great details added to the shoot to give it just the right amount of Western. Like the accessories from local jeweler, Kin.DSM + the stationary from Montana based designer Alex Ryan with Summit and Sage. And I have to admit I love the Ranch Water touch. I know it’s not everyone’s favorite thing, but I’m a sucker for some cute branding.

With any shoot we are part of, my favorite aspect is always the florals, and Midwest Blooms Co. did not disappoint. The arrangement she did for the interior Lux Tent pole had us swoooooning.

And I can’t forget to mention that drop dead GORGEOUS gown custom designed by Dame and Maiden and the makeup magic by Candescent Artistry.

Love is Groovy

This 70s inspired shoot took place right in the middle of our busy season, but man oh man was it worth it! We had so much fun seeing the creative vision from our friends at Yours Truly Weddings and Events and Vowed Vintage come to life. And the photography talent of Ali, from Rushstreet Photography, produced the dreamiest vibes. So turn on a record and scroll through to see how the magic played out.

The shoot took place on the property of an organic farm in Waukee, Iowa. I met the owner while out location scouting. I stopped by to get some food at their restaurant and after chatting with the owner for a bit he said, “why don’t you do the shoot here? My farm, is your farm!” He and his family that help run the restaurant are the sweetest and the food was delicious. So if you are looking for a great restaurant option on the outskirts of Waukee, be sure to check out LT Organic Farms. Their beautiful green grounds were the perfect backdrop for this colorful session.

All the vendors involved in the shoot played perfectly with our 70s theme. From custom clay earrings designed by Midwest Moons, to the dreamy macrame that Bekka from Moonlight Macrame created. I swear the cookies Frosted By Autumn made tasted JUST as good as they looked. And of course, I can’t forget the artistry in Morgan’s signs, seating chart, and more. Florals for the shoot were done by the incredibly talented Mandy from M. Klyn Florals. Mandy runs a floral studio out of Pella and everything she touches becomes pure magic.

We were lucky to have Sam from Hello Darlin’ Glam, do Emma’s hair and makeup for the shoot. Emma is drop dead gorgeous always, and I loved the way Sam gave her look a 70’s flare. It all coordinated perfectly with attire from Modern Dress, a boutique located in Boone, Iowa and Tyler’s suite from Skeffington’s.
